[NUVO] Kenny Wayne Shepherd Revisits Ledbetter Heights and more

From the first note, Kenny Wayne Shepherd wailed, strummed and picked his way to our hearts in celebration of his 30 years of blues-rock done right—fiery, soulful, and gritty. Fans at the Brown County Music Center were treated to one great night of music April 22, 2026.

For many of us, the big draw was the 30th anniversary celebration of Shepherd’s first album, Ledbetter Heights, which he recently re-recorded and which he played in its entirety. “This is the album that put me on the map, and I still enjoy listening to it because my goal has always been to make music I want to listen to,” Shepherd says. “Unfiltered and straight from the heart.”

With the Ledbetter Heights remake, Shepherd’s songs still hit with the same punch, tighter and more seasoned, and with one significant addition. Shepherd’s 28-year vocalist, Noah Hunt, who has sung on every other album but this one, now offers his voice to the revival – completing the circle for this long-standing band.

In addition to the Ledbetter lineup, the setlist included several other highlights of Shepherd’s discography with crowd favorites “Shame, Shame, Shame” and “Everybody Gets the Blues” rocking the house and the hit “Blue on Black,” which came in the encore, offering the audience an opportunity to join in the chorus and the celebration of this night.
